2021 Virtual SCWHE Conference

Refresh, Renew, Refocus in Challenging Times

SCWHE is proud to announce this year’s conference theme as “Refresh, Renew, Refocus in Challenging Times.”  The 2021 conference is scheduled for February 25 – 26, 2021, beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday and Friday and concluding at 11:30 a.m. daily.

Each morning the conference will host a break-out session, keynote speaker, and wellness activity that focuses on the conference’s theme of Refresh, Renew, Refocus in Challenging Times.  Please consider joining SCWHE for the two-morning conference to refresh, renew, and refocus your career in higher education.

The conference will be virtual and FREE to everyone. The registration deadline is February 17, 2021.

Keynote Speakers

Dr. Gailda Davis
American Council on Education (ACE) 

Dr. Gailda Davis from the American Council on Education (ACE) will deliver the keynote address on February 25. Ms. Davis leads the development and implementation of professional learning programs while acting as senior director and chief of staff at ACE.

Dr. Danielle Scheurer, MD
Medical University of South Carolina

Medicine, and Chief Quality Officer at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Health System. She completed undergraduate studies at Emory University, medical school at The University of Tennessee, and Medicine-Pediatrics residency training at Duke University. She then joined MUSC as a Hospitalist, and completed her Masters in Clinical Research. She then practiced as a Hospitalist and Medical Director of the Inpatient Medicine Services at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston for 5 years, before returning back to MUSC in 2010. She is also a certified trainer in Just Culture and TeamStepps, is a Lean-Six Sigma Black Belt, a Baldrige National Examiner, and a certified mediator. As System Chief Quality Officer, she oversees all Quality-Safety, Patient Engagement-Experience, Population Health, and Value-Based Payment models for the system. She is passionate about instilling High Reliability principles throughout the healthcare system, to improve safety and quality across all sites for all patients, while simultaneously enabling team engagement for performance excellence.
